MSPC CPAs Raises $18,000 for the Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly reduced the amount of donations charities have received in 2020.  However, the socially-distancing didn’t stop   MSPC Certified Public Accountants and Advisors from raising $18,000 for the Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation.

After raising $10,000 in 2019, as part of their 75th-anniversary celebration, the full-service accounting and consulting firm with offices in New York and New Jersey kept the momentum going with a “choose-your-own-adventure” virtual fundraiser.   Inspired by MSPC Partner, Jim Flannery, who signed up for a 1.25 miles swim in open waters in an “Escape from Alcatraz”, employees had the chance to choose a pledged-back activity of their liking.  Clients and friends of the Firm were encouraged to support the MSPC teams in their activities.  As an incentive, those who pledged support earned a chance to win prizes such as an Apple MacBook and an Apple Watch.

“It was truly amazing to see business partners, family members, friends, and coworkers come together to support one another to benefit a great organization. We were able to raise an extraordinary amount towards the Children’s Specialized Hospital during a pandemic, imagine all we can accomplish together in the future,” said Stephanie Nobre, Co-Chair of MSPC’s CSR Committee.

“2020 has been a challenging year for everyone.   It’s important to remember that there are kids facing serious health issues and they shouldn’t be forgotten in the chaos of the pandemic.  We are proud of the fact that with a little creativity, we were able to support their mission as part of our ongoing commitment to the charity”, notes MSPC Managing Partner, Jon Gagliardi.

The MSPC CSR Committee will continue to work with CSHF on ways that the Firm can participate in their events and activities in the new year through volunteering as well as fundraising.
